Things that make me happy

Thoughts of "bearding" my cats.  You might be wondering what I talking about...  and what exactly is bearding?  Haha!  Just take a look at the hilarious photo below.
It's a cat beard :D  Although I am not 100% sure if my boys will agree to this.
Weekend run at one of my favorite places, UP!
and cat watch
Last time we saw this very sleepy kitty!  Not a care in the world.
Do not disturb :)
I tried to lure this orange kitty with snacks but...
I guess she just wanted to hang out with this family :)
Seeing the finish line!  I have been helping my aunt with the layout of the book they are making.  This is how my table has looked for the past week.  So many photos and memories to sort.  Btw, that is my breakfast smoothie in the corner.  So yummy! :D
Yes!  Almost done.  We go to the press next week :)
Craft camp loot!  More on the camp in my next post :)
And lastly, new and very reasonably priced shoes from zalora.ph.
Happy Thursday folks :)

Wild Whisker Wednesday

Our white cat has the wildest whiskers I have ever seen!
The whiskers are growing in different directions :D  I think they want to escape!
On the other hand, Nugget's whiskers are so different!  Straight and all facing down (except for one stray :D)
Such a serious face!  My grumpy old man Nuggie must be hungry already :D

View from the 33rd

One thing that I love about our place is the view from our window.
There were bright pink streaks in the sky yesterday.  I was mesmerized while I watched the colors disappear into the night.  When it is a clear day I can see the Manila Bay at the very end.
Watching rain is pretty cool too.  Notice the gray area at the left corner.  Yep, that is rain on it's way here :D  It arrived a few minutes after I took this photo.  I am seriously thinking of getting a telescope so I can spy on my neighbors admire the view better and also look at stars at night :D

Happy 2nd :)

Erman and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary yesterday.  We were supposed go on a Tagaytay (where we got married) road trip but with so many things going on at home and also our car being banned on the road on Tuesday (color coding) we just decided to spend our special day here.  To be honest, I really didn't want anything grand...  I just wanted two things and those were to be with my husband and to buy cake!  I have been dreaming about the cake for weeks!  I am not kidding :D
We went to Greenfield (a.k.a Edsa Central) to have lunch.  I was pleasantly surprised to see how the area has changed.  It looks so clean!  There is still a lot of construction work going on but I'm sure it will be a really nice place to visit after.
Outside the restaurant I spotted the weirdest thing.  Do you see it?  I saw a dead (or maybe very dry?) potted plant with a singkamas planted with it! So odd!
The singkamas is thriving and growing vines :D  I wonder who planted it there!
And finally cake!  We dropped by Purple oven to buy my current favorite cake :D  Isn't it pretty?  I love white cakes the best.
It is so yummy too! Best cake ever!  Although I had to send half of it to my mom's because if not I will eat the whole thing :D
Btw, I'm happy to say that our wedding plants are still alive!  I feel really nostalgic when I think of how many funny things happened that day...  It drizzled a bit, my veil was ridiculously long that I had to cut some of it, we couldn't find the wedding string lights but thankfully things fell wonderfully into place in the end.  Happy 2nd, Erman!  Looking forward to more years with you :)

Kettle Korn: Poppin’ Fun All The Time!

I remember watching the movie Real Genius when I was a kid.  My siblings and I went crazy at the end when all that popcorn burst out of the house!  We kept thinking of how fun it must be to roll around and play in that popcorn mountain :D Here is a video clip just in case you've forgotten that awesome scene.

Pop pop pop!
Just look at all that popcorn!  Wow :D  If I were to star in a movie I'd like to be a part of something fun like just Real Genius.  Not quite sure what I want it to be about but I'd like it to involve cute cats, balloons and lots of popcorn.  Preferably yummy Kettle Korn popcorn!  And while watching that movie snacking on Kettle Korn (salty and sweet please) is a must!  Haha, isn't that funny?  Watching a movie with popcorn while eating popcorn :D
Stay happy folks!  And don't forget to grab your Kettle Korn popcorn :)

Clean House

It's true when mothers say that housework never ends.  To be honest, I never fully appreciated how much time and energy have to be dedicated towards it until now.  Thankfully our home is very small... a lot easier to clean and keep orderly compared to a big house but there is surprisingly still a LOT of work to do.
Sweeping and mopping the floors.  Our floor is white is very prone to stains!  Ugh.  I also try to keep the plants alive :D
Sprouting mung beans for lunch.
Solving a strawberry massacre
rescuing a trapped bottle of bagoong.  It's finally free after a month in the ice age :D

Rounding up all the left overs in the fridge and making a casserole out of everything.  There is vegetable curry, tuna spread and parts of a salad in there!  Hopefully after the house chores I can clean my work area and format hard drive of my computer :D

Join the Running Revolution with Adidas Energy Boost

My quest for a healthier lifestyle started with a pair of running shoes.  A friend invited me to join her run at the track oval in Ultra.   I initially used a pair of old sneakers that really hurt my feet and kept me slow.  After a week of using those sneakers, I finally decided that it was time to get a more suitable pair.  At that time I had no idea how those shoes would help change how I felt about running and keeping active.
After several trips to various shoe stores, I decided to get the Adidas Boost.  It fit me perfectly and I loved that it had pink accents and a pink heel!  But I loved it more when I started using it at the oval.   Running felt so much better (and was actually fun!) now that my feet felt cushioned and more stable.
These shoes are so comfortable that I made sure that I wore them on trips where I knew a lot of walking was involved.
Here we are exploring the ruins in Ayutthaya, Thailand.
Going up the rolling hills in Batanes was no problem too!
And of course at the gym where I run on the treadmill 4 times a week.  It's quite amazing to think that I can still rely on these shoes that have been with me for almost 3 years now.  Of course I do take proper care of them too :)
My cat loves it when I air them out. Haha
My more active lifestyle has also inspired me to make better food choices.  We eat a lot more veggies now and try healthier options like using coconut flour for pancakes.
Keeping your body healthy with good nutritious food definitely goes hand in hand with exercise.
This year, Adidas has a new and improved Boost shoe!  Here are some of the amazing things it can do:
  • Boost your cushioning

The foundation of the ENERGY BOOST™ innovation is centred on proprietary cushioning
material, BOOST™, that allows the runner to feel a continuous energy return. The
revolutionary technology allows small energy capsules in the soles to store and unleash
energy more efficiently with every stride.
  • Boost your conditions

Holding its performance in almost any condition the exclusive BOOST™ material has been
proven to be three times more temperature-resistant than standard EVA material, thus
providing a more consistent and comfortable run.
“As a revolutionary material, BOOST™ combines the usually conflicting performance
benefits of soft and comfortable with firm and responsive cushioning. It almost makes the
shoe come to life, and you will feel it from the first moment you put it on. It sets a new
standard, not only for running shoes, but for the entire industry, and all products going
forward,” said Bernd Wahler, Head of Innovation for adidas.
  • Boost your comfort

The adidas ENERGY BOOST™ innovation goes beyond the revolutionary midsole
technology. The upper on the ENERGY BOOST™ features adidas Techfit technology, which
provides optimal comfort and support to the entire foot while in motion.
Additional features include a special mid-foot support frame, an extended TORSION® system
to minimise roll for more stability, adiwear outsole to reduce wear in key soles areas and an
external heel counter to maximise the heel fit and comfort. The adidas ENERGY BOOST™ is miCoach compatible.
